Bernard E. Littlefield ("Bernie") is a native of Hampden, Maine. After studying Biomedical Photographic Communications at the Rochester Institute of Technology in New York, he moved to Florence, South Carolina to be the head photographer at the McLeod Regional Medical Center’s photography department. Although he found medical photography fascinating, his desire to be a portrait photographer led him back to Maine. In 1986, Bernie realized his dream of opening his own photography studio - BEL Portraits - specializing in destination weddings, family portraits, and commercial imaging.
Currently, Bernie is the only Certified Master Photographer, Photographic Craftsman in the state of Maine. He is a Past President of the Professional Photographer’s Association of New England; is a Past President of the Maine Professional Photographer’s Association; is a member of the Professional Photographer’s Association of America; and is an alumni of the New England Institute of Professional Photography.
Bernie's photography awards include numerous prestigious Kodak Gallery Awards for excellence in photography; two Fuji Masterpiece Awards for excellence in wedding photography, a regional New England Court of Honor for best Commercial Image, and five Maine State Court of Honors for best Wedding Portrait, Digital Image and Illustrative Image.
Rickey A. Montes CPP
Rickey A. Montes is originally from Illinois. His 1st photographic experience was at the art camp Windover. He attended the prestigious Brooks Institute of Photography in California. In 2007, Rickey joined the BEL team. In January 2008, he entered his first professional state competition and walked away with four red ribbons. In September 2008, Rickey entered his first regional competition where he received a blue ribbon and his first national merit and his firsts Koday Gallery award. He is one of the youngest Certified Professional Photographers in the country.
Rickey is known for his edgy, illustrative style, his unique perspectives and his desire to always "push the envelope". His senior portraits are contemporary and ALWAYS one-of-a-kind.
